Oh! I thought of a good idea for the Page of Disks today. I don't know if it will pan out but I plan on enjoying the idea of it for awhile. It came to me while doing yardwork, of course! I was chopping a pile of bush trimmings so I could fit them in trashbags when I imagined potato bugs welling out of the earth around the feet of the page. From what I understand, in Mexico(or is it South America in general?)they are called 'ninas de la tierra' which translates to children of the earth. Very cool! If you have never seen one they are about the weirdest looking bug in the world. They live in the dirt and look like they have a bald little person head. They bite too, I know this from experience. Now that I think of it I haven't seen a potato bug in years. I wonder where they all went? Probably the same place the June bugs went, and the bull frogs, horny toads, blue-belly lizards, giant moths and all the other creatures I used to see in abundance when I was young but now don't see anymore. I think I'll dig around and see if I can find any tomorrow, or the almost equally coveted giant, gross looking grub! Oh Sophie loves that stuff, err, I think she does.....maybe it's just me that loves them!
